Claude Monet spent his last forty years living and working in the small Normandy village of Giverny. He created a garden that was the setting for many of his paintings. His home overlooks this garden and it is easy to see how he was inspired every day to continue being creative. Walking around the lily pond was exhilarating since we had just spent time at the Musee l'Orangerie looking at his Water Lily murals. Monet's grave can be found at the other end of Giverny which is itself quite picturesque.
