Rome is a special city with many sights to see and places to explore. Our time in Rome was made even more special because we shared it with our good friends Jason and Michelle Shepherd and their wonderful children Ryanne and Colby. They are also traveling through Europe this Fall and Winter and we really enjoyed seeing the highlights (and there are plenty of them) of the Eternal City together. Every day began with croissants and other baked goodies from the local coffee shop (there are only a half dozen per block to chose from) and then we headed out for a nice long leisurely stroll through the cobble-stoned streets of this magnificent city. It was sad to have our week come to an end but we celebrated Christmas on our last evening with chicken, potatoes, and cake from our local grocer. We will always remember Rome as a place we shared with friends.
